Camping usually includes tents, sleeping bags and camp fires. It can also include fishing, hiking and swimming. Another popular activity is making smores. Everyone camps differently, but camping is a fun way to get outdoors.
There are many places to go! There are camp sites where you can pitch a tent and set up your site.
There are also RV parks you can drive to and hook up if you choose to camp in a more luxurious style. Planning a trip takes time and quite possibly a reservation. One place I enjoy to visit is Orcas Island. From here in Seattle you need to take a ferry to the island and drive to the campground and get set up. The island has multiple campgrounds, but a reservation is required and in some cases months to a year in advance. It is a beautiful scenery. There are trails to go hiking and sometimes if your lucky you get a sneak peak at local wildlife. There are also other things to do on the island, however we chose to camp the old fashioned way all weekend including: tents, sleeping bags and a camp fire. I have been looking into planning another trip there soon. Hopefully my kids will enjoy the Island as much as I have and we can make it a family vacation spot.
