DYK? Bonsai that survived the atomic bomb

One of The oldest bonsai in the world is over 400 years old and endured a nuclear explosion, this little bonsai tree keeps growing. It was planted in 1625, and lived just 2 miles from the drop site of the atomic bomb; destroying Heroshima in 1945. The bonsai was given to the United States in 1976 and is housed at the National Arboretum,  it still continues to thrive today.
